Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 could potentially shift to Unreal Engine 5 if Square Enix determines it would speed up the game’s development time, Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed during an interview with CG World. The director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth revealed that the project took about four years to develop, and was produced in tandem with the Intermission DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, he admitted that Unreal Engine 5 could be employed for the third and final chapter in FFVII Remake project, should the development team want to get it in players’ hands as quickly as possible.

Before I even say anything, I just hope the devs are smart about their PvE release schedule, because (correct me if I'm wrong), pretty much all of us wanted a substantial PvE/Story expansion, and didn't want to be drip-fed content. (more on this later) So Apex is getting a Singleplayer experience, essentially, Respawn is emphasizing Apex's success over Titanfall's, considering they're in the same universe. And even though, I don't really play Apex much, I'm more optimistic about it than Overwatch 2's PvE. Knowing that a successful team, with a very strong track record when it comes to both multi/single-player games, is making a core story campaign for Apex is exciting. Titanfall wasn't marketed well at all, but an Apex spin-off of the same quality would do really well, and would once again have EA eating their (old) stance on single-player games. Read more
