  1. Name: boucha What is your suggestion/proposal?: I have seen that the forum is very focused on Romanian people. I think it's time to grow as an international forum, as English the main language. You will tell me that we can choose the option that the English language forum has... and yes, but the models of the general sections are mayority on Romanian and all members post everything in Romanian (example; Stiri IT, Sports, Citate, etc). If we do a little investigation, Counter Strike has many Arab and Latin members, who still play the classic and ZM servers... and in my years as an admin in another community I could see that they are still interested in forum activity in general, projects, etc. This proposal is specially to @X-Tream as owner of this community. I would like that this vision I have for the forum will be accepted and we can work together to make this community even better known. How will this suggestion/proposal help the community?: More views, visits, activity, growing
  2. In every discipline, there are moments that mark history. Surely you can point to the film that, in your opinion, has had the greatest influence on the evolution of society. However, in the world of science, these moments take on a unique significance because, in addition to being recorded in books, they represented points of no return in human knowledge—that is, situations in which the way we perceive reality and nature completely changed. 5. Chile is the longest country in the world, with more than 6,000 kilometers of coastline stretching along the western edge of South America. Its north-south stretches 4,270 kilometers, with a total land area of 756,626 square kilometers. Chile's territory stretches from the Atacama Desert in the north, one of the driest places on Earth, to the southern tip of the continent, home to the rugged and pristine Patagonia region. Along the Andes mountain range, Chilean landscapes encompass all kinds of scenery. To more info: Click here
  6. Almost all objects in our solar system, including planets, asteroids, and satellites, orbit the Sun and rotate counterclockwise on their axes. This uniform motion suggests their formation from a rotating planetary disk around the Sun, where conservation of angular momentum caused objects closer to the Sun to orbit faster, influencing the planets to rotate in the same direction as their orbits. Unlike other planets in our solar system, Venus rotates clockwise, and Uranus rotates ambiguously due to its extreme axial tilt. Furthermore, six planetary satellites exhibit retrograde motion, likely due to being captured asteroids. This directional consistency supports the theory that the solar system formed from a rotating disk. To more info: Click here

  9. Your cat probably spends the day sleeping; in fact, they're most likely taking a nap right now as you read this. You wouldn't be the first person to wonder why cats sleep so much and if it's normal. But experts confirm that cats are hardwired to sleep a lot; it's literally in their DNA. In a normal 24-hour cycle, your cat can log up to 20 hours of sleep! So, what's the reason, and when might excessive sleeping indicate an underlying concern? How much do cats sleep in 24 hours? Simply put, cats sleep a lot. Cats' sleep habits vary depending on age and activity level, averaging 15 to 20 hours a day. That means they spend an average of 70% of their lives sleeping! However, Dr. Mikel Delgado, Rover's resident cat expert, states on The Dog People Panel that cats don't always enjoy deep, restful sleep throughout their entire sleep cycle. Cats do experience deep sleep like humans, but since their naps only last 15 to 20 minutes per cycle, their deep sleep periods are much shorter, typically around five minutes. 12. Clouds are formed by the accumulation of ice crystals, microscopic water droplets suspended in the atmosphere, or a combination of both, resulting from the condensation of water vapor. For this reason, scientists have pondered over the years how much a cloud weighs. Years ago, scientist Margaret LeMone of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, USA, calculated the weight of a cloud. To do so, she first measured the size of the cloud's shadow and estimated its height, assuming the cloud was cubic in shape. Then, based on previous research, she estimated the density of water droplets at approximately 1/2 gram per cubic meter. Therefore, LeMone calculated that if a cloud had a density of one cubic kilometer and was multiplied by the weight of the water particles, there would be 500,000,000 grams of water droplets in such a cloud. This would be equivalent to approximately 550 tons, which is more than 227 elephants, each weighing approximately 2,200 kilograms. This study reveals a striking contrast between the visual perception of clouds and their actual weight. Despite their light appearance, these formations carry considerable weight due to the large number of water particles they contain. To more info: Click here
  13. The Eiffel Tower is a living example of physical principles in action. Every summer, its expansion reminds us of the importance of science in engineering and design. The Eiffel Tower, one of the world's most iconic monuments, is not only a symbol of Paris but also a fascinating example of engineering and science. Every summer, this iron structure experiences a curious phenomenon: its size increases. This change is not perceptible to the naked eye, but it is a fact that has intrigued scientists and tourists alike. The reason behind this phenomenon lies in thermal expansion, a physical principle that affects all materials, but which, in the case of the Eiffel Tower, manifests itself most notably due to its construction and the materials used. Below, we will explore in detail why and how this phenomenon occurs, and what implications it has for the structure and its maintenance. Thermal Expansion: A Natural Phenomenon Thermal expansion is a physical phenomenon that occurs when materials expand as temperature increases. In the case of the Eiffel Tower, built with puddled iron, this phenomenon is especially relevant. Iron, like many other metals, has a coefficient of linear expansion that determines how much it expands when the temperature rises. During the summer, temperatures in Paris can reach up to 40°C, and the tower's structure can heat up even more due to direct solar radiation. This increase in temperature causes the atoms in the iron to become more agitated, increasing the distance between them and thus expanding the structure. This growth can be between 12 and 15 centimeters, a figure that, although small compared to the tower's total height, is significant from an engineering point of view. To more info: Click here
