In the direct battle for the last place were Steaua București and ASA Târgu Mureș . The team from Ghencea did its job and defeated Politehnica Iași 3-1, while ASA Târgu Mureș got into trouble on the road and drew with Sepsi OSK. Before the final round, the two teams had 36 points each, but Steaua had the advantage of direct results, after a 2-1 victory over ASA Târgu Mureș.
