Did you know that Fortnite was originally designed as a cooperative survival experience? When Epic Games first announced Fortnite in 2011, the main concept was Save the World, a PvE mode where players team up to build forts, collect resources, and defend against waves of zombie-like creatures called Husks. The now-famous Battle Royale mode was added later in 2017, inspired by the sudden popularity of battle royale games.
