Did You Know That Overwatch 2 Maps Are Designed to Reduce Choke-Point Frustration?

Did you know that map design in Overwatch 2 intentionally minimizes tight choke points that plagued older maps? Blizzard redesigned lighting, cover placement, flank routes, and spawn distances to encourage constant movement rather than stagnant shield battles. Many legacy maps were removed or reworked because they didn’t fit the new pacing. Push and newer Hybrid maps promote forward momentum, making matches feel less repetitive and reducing situations where teams are stuck endlessly attacking one doorway.
