The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi is rebuilt every winter using ice taken from the nearby Torne River. Artists from around the world design unique rooms, sculptures, and corridors entirely out of ice and snow. When spring arrives, the hotel melts back into the river, making each year’s design truly one of a kind. Visitors can even sleep in thermal sleeping bags at temperatures below zero.

The Icehotel reminds us that beauty can be temporary — and that’s what makes it special.
