2025 is on track to be the second- or third-hottest year on record worldwide

According to the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), global temperatures in 2025 are expected to end up as the second- or third-highest ever measured — nearly continuing a three-year stretch above the critical 1.5 °C threshold compared with pre-industrial levels.
