Beginning almost 30 years ago, the saga of the Mishima clan and the King of Iron Fist Tournament has taken many twists and turns (dropping family members into a volcano has never been more dramatic), and Tekken 8 promises the boldest, most cinematic version yet. But Tekken 8 has a secret – it effectively contains two story modes this time, on very different subjects. As you’d expect, the core new Story mode continues the tale of Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima, father and son rivals, each with literally devilish powers, and the creation of a new King of Iron Fist Tournament.     I see a lot of speculation about this game that makes me think people have not seen the press release. The game is a rogue-like. You select from a cast of 8 characters, there is no character creator. The map, and enemies in the world are randomly generated, and change each time you start a new playthrough. In typical rogue-like fashion, if your party falls, the run is over and you must start from the beginning. There will be leveling, and you will lose this progress on death. However, There will be some form of permanent progression in the form of "Relics" that are granted upon each unsuccessful run. There is a 3 Day/Night cycle, and you face a boss at the end of each night. Each night will shrink the map, and on the final night you will face the "Nightlord". The outer edges of the map will contain lesser loot, and the more dangerous inner areas will have greater rewards.
