Multiuser and Multitasking Design
250px-Simh-pdp11-unix-sysiii.png

Unix was specifically designed to support multiple users working on the same system at the same time, which was a major advancement during its development.

Each user could run their own programs independently without affecting others. In addition, Unix supports multitasking, meaning it can run many processes simultaneously, efficiently managing system resources like CPU and memory.

This capability made Unix highly suitable for servers, universities, and large organizations where many users needed stable and concurrent access.
