This cable stretches about 4,600–5,000 km across the North Atlantic and forms the backbone of Greenland’s international internet connectivity. It allows data from towns like Nuuk and Qaqortoq to travel quickly to global networks, improving internet speed and reliability for businesses, researchers, and residents. Before this infrastructure existed, Greenland relied heavily on slow satellite connections, but fiber-optic technology significantly improved digital communication and enabled more advanced online services.
