The Sahara is the largest hot desert in the world, stretching across 11 countries and covering an area nearly the size of the United States. Its landscapes vary from massive dunes over 150 meters tall to rocky plateaus, ancient dried riverbeds, and oases full of life. Despite extreme temperatures, the Sahara hosts species specially adapted to harsh environments, as well as ancient rock art that proves the region was once green and fertile thousands of years ago.

The Sahara reminds us that even in the harshest conditions, resilience makes life possible.
