Garajonay National Park, located on the island of La Gomera, is one of Spain’s most magical natural treasures. Covered by ancient laurel forests dating back to the Tertiary period, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a journey through time — a living reminder of the primeval forests that once covered much of southern Europe. The park is often shrouded in mist, creating an enchanting atmosphere where moss-covered trees and ferns form a green cathedral. Numerous trails cross its valleys and peaks, with the Garajonay summit (1,487 m) offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and neighboring islands.
