The Pico del Teide is not only Spain’s highest peak at 3,718 meters, but also one of the most impressive volcanoes in the world. Rising from the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, it is the third largest volcano on the planet when measured from its base on the ocean floor.

The Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a unique landscape of craters, lava rivers, and strange rock formations that almost resemble another planet. At sunrise or sunset, the peak offers breathtaking views that stretch across the archipelago, and on exceptionally clear days, you can even see as far as Africa.
