How much do cats sleep in 24 hours?
Simply put, cats sleep a lot. Cats' sleep habits vary depending on age and activity level, averaging 15 to 20 hours a day. That means they spend an average of 70% of their lives sleeping! However, Dr. Mikel Delgado, Rover's resident cat expert, states on The Dog People Panel that cats don't always enjoy deep, restful sleep throughout their entire sleep cycle. Cats do experience deep sleep like humans, but since their naps only last 15 to 20 minutes per cycle, their deep sleep periods are much shorter, typically around five minutes.
