ReactOS does not use the Linux kernel or any Microsoft Windows source code. Instead, it is written from the ground up by developers who carefully study how Windows NT works and then recreate similar functionality legally. This makes ReactOS a clean-room project with its own kernel, system libraries, and drivers.
